Often baby eczema washes or bath bath products are the worst 'villians' when it come to sensitive skin or eczema, many everyday products can be loaded with potential irritants.
SLS (sodium laureth sulfate) is the most common irritant - this is a harsh detergent ingredient that creates the foam or bubbles in cleansers or washes.
Dermatologists use SLS as a "positive control" in allergy patch tests - It's that irritating.
We don't think a child's sensitive skin needs bubbles or foam - It's just not worth the irritation. That's why exederm baby eczema bath wash avoids SLS along with other unnecessary chemical additives such as harsh paraben type preservatives - why take risks?
exederm has focused on functionality rather than appearance or smell. The objective is to cleanse your baby's skin, we don't need artificial bubbles and foam to do that.
exederm gently cleanses without stripping away natural moisture and without leaving skin feeling 'tight', red or irritated.Click here for Exederm Eczema Baby Wash ingredients
Our poor little guy started having dry, cracked cheeks at about 6 months old (probably from excessive drool - compounded by over-drying baby soap). Our daycare provider suggested drying eczema-formulated soap and lotion, so after a few hours of online research, we tried exederm. Within a short time, our guy was looking 100% better. We tried going back to normal baby soap once, but we immediately saw dry little hands - changed back to exederm, and that was gone immediately again. We plan to just keep using this wash for our little guy, it works great for us.
My som is now 4 but I've been using Baby Bath since he was a newborn. It is a super sensitive formula that is great for both baby's sensitive skin - and mine. I was diagnosed with a contact skin allergy the year before my son's birth. It's critically important to find products that are gentle enough for both of us. Exederm is one of few brands that I can use for my child, knowing that it is sensitive enough for his skin, and mine.
