But First ... The exederm 3 Step System

exederm flare control cream is America's ONLY parabens free hydrocortisone cream

Dermatologists consider 1% Hydrocortisone to be the "Gold Standard" for the rash of mild to moderate eczema

Several brands are available, BUT - they are not all the same, most are formulated for the average person with an insect bite, bee sting or poison ivy skin rash .

The 'base' cream to which the hydrocortisone active ingredient is added can often contain potential irritants such as parabens preservatives or unnecessary botanical additives

Putting a "Gold Standard" active ingredient into anything less than a "Gold Standard" base simply doesn't make sense.

Step 2 : Maintain hydration with exederm intensive moisture cream

Experts agree that hydration is critically important for eczema, dermatitis or dry skin.

But for those with sensitive skin, this can be a difficult time as many moisturizers can irritate. Too many people rely on trial and error to find a a suitable moisturizer.

It's always surprising to see what is actually in some of leading brands, even products specifically designed for childhood eczema. And incredibly, there are no FDA regulations governing the use of the phrase "hypoallergenic" or "sensitive" anybody can use this on the label regardless of formulation.

exederm has focused on functionality rather than appearance. It's common sense to us. The objective is to hydrate the skin, we don't need colors or perfume to do that.

We have also avoided the temptation to use penetration enhancers found in many of the more expensive cosmetic moisturizers - they can cause too much irritation.

Often washes and cleansers are the worst 'villians' when it come to sensitive skin or eczema, many everyday products can be loaded with potential irritants.

SLS or SLES is the most common irritant - this is the ingredient that creates the foam or bubbles in cleansers or washes.

Dermatologists use SLS as a "positive control" in allergy patch tests - It's that irritating.

We don't think that sensitive skin needs bubbles or foam - It's just not worth the irritation. That's why exederm cleansing wash avoids SLS or SLES, color, perfumes and harsh parabens.
